Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Every day, PWI helps 750 adults with developmental disabilities find success in a work environment. With an unemployment rate over 78%, adults with developmental disabilities struggle to enter the workforce independently, for a variety of reasons. PWI helps break down any barriers that prevent this hardworking and fully capable population from entering the workforce.

Unsure what developmental disabilities are? They include a wide range of disabilities, including, but not limited to: Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy, and intellectual disabilities.

PWI sees the many abilities, talents, and possibilities in each person it serves, no matter their disability. Helping them to become teachers, candy makers, janitors, SeaWorld Show Hosts, administrative assistants, gardeners, or whatever vocation they wish to pursue; the options are limitless.
